Scientific student research assistant (B.Sc.) – Open to M.Sc. Students from any field

Amount: 24h per month (6h/week, with option to increase), flexible work arrangement

Duration: for 6 months, with option to extend

Start: November 2025

Tasks: Assistance in the ERC-funded research project Melding behavioural ecology and biomaterials research to track the evolution of mechanical super-performance of spider silk composites (SuPerSilk)

• Primary task: Maintenance and development of our novel scientific data management system EvoNEST
• Administration of the database server and user accounts
• Local IT support (PC maintenance; help with seƫng up analyses on the HPC, etc.)

Requirements:

• Interest in data management and data science
• Solid coding skills
• Curiosity and ability to familiarise yourself with a full-stack application (you will have the opportunity to learn to apply popular and versatile tools such as MongoDB, React, NextJS and Docker)
• Thorough and committed work ethics
• Good command of English language, openness to work in an international, interdisciplinary team
